The SAP Best Run Awards have come back to ANZ in 2019 stronger than ever. The awards celebrate the achievements of top companies and people in Australia and New Zealand that are using SAP products to transform their businesses, drive innovation and win in the experience economy. 

This year, Zag are finalists with two of our customers across four exciting categories. Check out which projects have captured the judges’ attention below.

Best Run SAP Industry Disruptor

Eligible for companies using SAP technologies to transform and disrupt the way the industry has traditionally conducted business. 

Finalist: Ballance Agri-Nutrients and Zag

Ballance Agri-Nutrients’ aim is to extend the provision of its fertiliser to all customers through new means of technological convenience, disrupting traditional supply chain operations. Ballance wanted to provide wider coverage with local access to the most commonly used fertilisers in locations where it does not have a manned local service centre.

Working closely with SAP partner Zag and PLC specialist NZ Controls, Ballance delivered the on-site mechanical automation for dispensing and filling silos, fully integrated with SAP ERP sales orders and stock transfers for both inbound and outbound deliveries.

Best Run SAP CRM & Customer Experience

Eligible for companies who have implemented SAP C/4HANA, SAP Customer Cloud, SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, SAP Service Cloud and built trusted relationships between their brands and customers, creating customers for life. 

Finalist: Auckland Council and Zag

Auckland Council’s previous manual, paper-based Building and Resource Consent method couldn’t keep pace with processing requirements. The sheer kilograms of paper to process was creating a health & safety risk to employees.

Their goal was to streamline and digitise the complex Resource and Building Consent processes to make it as easy as possible for customers to submit high-quality consents, online. Auckland Council collaborated with Zag to architect an omni-channel customer-centric technology platform using SAP software and complimentary technologies to increase efficiency, accuracy and processing capacity of applications.

The new solution presents a responsive web design ensuring customers can create, manage, pay and receive updates on their consent applications conveniently 24/7 via desktop, tablet or mobile. Built-in online decision tools and contextual guides educate customers through the consent process, informing them of relevant legislation and how their application could be adjusted to overcome restrictions or costs.

Best Run SAP Social Hero/ Best Run SAP Digital Supply Chain

The Social Hero category is eligible for companies using SAP technologies to make a significant social impact that improves people’s lives. For example, environmental innovations or outcomes.

The Digital Supply Chain category is eligible for companies who have streamlined design to operate processes, improving customer outcomes, providing increased visibility into business operations and supporting business innovation, and who have implemented SAP Digital Supply Chain solutions.

Finalist: Ballance Agri-Nutrients and Zag

MyBallance is a customer centric eCommerce solution that consolidates internal and non-SAP data within multiple SAP HANA applications. This is combined with complementary external data sources leveraged across Business-to-Business (B2B) Commerce and Marketing channels. Geo-spatial and graphical interfaces are embedded within SAP Commerce pages to improve accuracy of transactional farm data.

MyBallance is fast becoming a common access point for all customer and third-party interactions and over time it will become the one-stop shop for all things Ballance. With integrations such as NIWA and new apps like My Pasture Planner, MyBallance offers comprehensive analytical insights about fertiliser placement and volume, helping farmers operate more sustainably while maximising profitability.

Improved accuracy and application of fertiliser on farms is reducing run-off contamination into New Zealand waterways. MyBallance enables farmers to manage environmental compliance with government legislation.
